Default Whistler XTR-695 Radar Detector Review

As some of you already know, I have been fortunate to have been able to put an extensive amount of real-world driving miles with the latest Whistler XTR-695.

I am pleased to now be able to share my Whistler XTR-695 experiences with you as well as provide an in-depth examination into all of the new features and capabilities and what they mean to the performance-oriented driver in the real-world.

My hat is off to Mike B. and the rest of the engineering staff at Whistler Group for allowing this kind of radar detector to be produced.

Keep up the great work, guys!

My formal Whistler XTR-695 review follows:

Default Programming the XTR-695SE

Hey VEILguy,
After reading and watching just about everything you've put on the internet, I purchased the XTR-695SE and received it today. After taking it out on a few drives I already noticed that I keep picking up some X band in the same area near a few entrance ramps to various highways. I didn't see a cop any of the times, and while troopers in NJ do use X band, this wouldn't be a trooper patrolled area.
Anyways, I read online that this RD is capable of being programmed to not alert certain bands in certain places along your commute that continually produce false alerts. However I haven't found anything on how to do that.

Have you heard anything about this, and if so do you know how?

Thanks, much appreciated.

Default

There are other sources of X band besides the police.

Some door openers operate on X band and some on K band.
There are some X band motion sensor secutiry alarms.

If you do not wish to be alerted to X band you can enter the Menu mode, cycle to the X band selection and select (X OFF)
