Took a little road trip on the interstate tonight, and the Pro-78SE held up well, as always.
Numerous moving Ka-band saves, but the one that really stood out was against a stationary state trooper.
I started getting Ka about 1.7 miles (maybe a tad more) from a clover leaf stil on- and off-ramp area, slightly around a bend, and WAY uphill from the area. First indication was a low-strength (2 bars) 34.9, which made me do a double-take. That lasted for awhile, then went away and returned as I rounded the bend, but this time as 34.7.
The LEO was sitting on the on-ramp side of the clover-leaf, facing the direction of traffic (south), shooting Ka using his rear-facing antenna.
Overall, I got 1.7-1.8 miles, around a bend from a very tricky LEO. If the 78SE hadn't alerted, I wouldn't have seen him and might not have slowed. WHEW!
Oh, and a word of advice for everyone. I called in an aggressive driver -- dude who was just doing crazy stuff and putting people in all kinds of danger. When the State Patrol called back, as I was talking to the trooper, my RD alerted to Ka-band. DEFINITELY should have turned that off before answering the phone. It actually made him stop and stutter for a moment before moving on. LOL. MUTE...have to remember to MUTE! I have CITY mode for a reason!
