Default Wrongly nailed by airplane trap

Hey, I need some help on taking this to court.
Two days ago I got pulled over for doing 81 in a 65 zone and the officer said I was tagged by the airplane between mile markers 303 and 305 on East-bound HWY 50 in CO. The thing is, I had my cruise control on at 67 mph for the entire trip! My speedometer works (its not off my 15, for sure!) and there is no way I was doing anywhere close to 81. What gives? How can I fight this in court? Is there research showing problems with airplane speed monitoring?
Thanks for any advice!
-Dan

I haven't heard of any problems with speed monitoring via airplane per se... usually when they do that there are big dots on the road that help them get your speed from the air... were you driving over those? If not I'm not sure what they would have used as a reference to calculate your speed. I would certainly ask for a deposition (basically their explanation of what happened and how they got your speed) before the court case. Ask the officer for the description of your car that he got from the airplane. If you don't have anything on or about your car that would make it unique and the airplane didn't give a plate number than I would think you could get out of it under reasonable doubt (could have been another similar car). Be sure to point out any differences between the description and your car. As a pilot I can tell you that it would be pretty difficult to get your plate number or read a mile marker sign on the side of the road without something a little more special than a pair of binoculars (they may have some special equipment I really don't know).
