Exclamation Citation by State Trooper

So today my friend and I went to Dollywood. On our way back home we took a wrong turn and ended up in North Carolina and had to back track to get back to our home town. I ended up getting pulled over by a state trooper on the interstate going 83 in a 70. The fine was $230, which I believe is unfair. (I got pulled over going 50 in a 30 before and only had a $100 fine). What I really want to know is: 1) Should I go to court and plead not guilty. 2) If I do plead not guilty, are there any laws I can use to prove that the fine is unreasonable. and/or 3) Should I ask to go to driving school. Please let me know what you think! Thank you

Default Citation by Trooper

Best get a lawyer and let him get it knocked down. Those ambulance chasers will bombard you within a week. Just pick one and call and find out what they can do and the expense. Shop them. An Over 80 Ticket in or out of NC is loss of license if you are a NC resident. This is one they love to write. If there is any consulation you were caught by one of the best at the game. If you got that same ticket in Va. the fine is 2000+ so your arguement of over priced won't get you far and driving school still keeps it on your insurance record for mutiple years. Sorry but over 80 in NC is not a good plan. With the SC Trooper that recently died while driving in excess of 100mph not running lights or no notification of persute to dispatch the court systems are going to look at it like this( If a trained professional dies because of excessive speed than a Common Joe surely shouldn't be speeding because he is not capable.) They will punish everybody because they will justify their actions as homage to the fallen Trooper.
