Default Cordless Detectors

I'm new to the site and just need to get my first stupid questions out of the way. I was interested in the Escort SOLO S2 because it is cordless, however after doing some more research I haven't seen many reviews on this site or others. Can anyone let me know if they have used this one before or should I start looking at some of the other brands that have a cord.

It's been my experience that battery powered radar detectors, while ostensibly are convenient, actually do not perform to the same level as their wired cousins.

Because of battery saving techniques, the detector does not run all of the time, it frequently pauses/hibernates (to conserve energy). When paused, it can't hear.

If you are concerned with the best performance for your money, go wired, which ever brand/model you choose.
