Lightbulb Best Budget System:

I think it's safe to say that all of the high-end radar detector systems will always get a lot of press on forums like this. Unfortunately most people, and especially newbies, can't afford them. So I think it would be a nice service to them if people with experience in countermeasures listed what they feel is the best budget system. I would say that approximately $300 ($430 for laser) would be a good price point for a budget system. A radar detector is supposed to be just that, a device that detects radar signals. You do NOT need all of the fancy buttons and bells to get good radar protection. You could have a really effective countermeasures system on a budget. Below is what I consider to be (currently) the best budget radar/LIDAR systems avaialable. What are yours?

Best Budget Radar Detector (under $300):

Beltronics RX65 Pro or Whistler Pro-78 SE

Best Budget LIDAR Jammer (under $430):

Currently none, but if the Blinder M27 tests well then I would recommend the Blinder M27 (group buy) + Veil

Best Budget System (Radar + Anti-Laser under $300):

Whistler Pro-78 SE + Veil and OnTrack Laser Shield
