Red face Newbie Veilguy question

Hi guys,

I知 new the to the Radar detector world. I live in San Diego, California and commute 100 miles a day to work. I have been running through Speed traps at least 3 times a week. At this point it痴 only a numbers game in my mind when I will get pulled over. I am on a Ninja 650r Motorcycle. For safety I travel on the #1 lane. I travel a little faster then traffic to be safe. I知 not excessively fast at all. I still have cars passing me at least 10 mph faster.

I bought myself a Used Escort Passport 9500i. I integrated it to my bike with the Direct Wire Kit and mounted it so that I have the Red LED in my peripheral vision. I also put on a Bluetooth converter so that I can wirelessly hear audible tones. I am also running Trapster on my iPhone so it will let me know where the active speed traps are. I just installed it over the weekend. It痴 a rough install. I値l clean it up once I知 happy where everything is.

My concern is that the CHP and local PD have new toys. It appears that they are playing with LiDAR. I have been reading Lidar is difficult to defeat. I知 reading about the Veil G4 product. I知 almost sold that it may work. I知 thinking of covering my entire bike with it since it may not make a difference in color because I have a blue bike. However I知 thinking of airbrushing it on so that I don稚 get brush lines. Anyone have any experience with doing that? Also, I知 thinking of spraying it on my radiator so I don稚 miss anything.

Welcome to the forum.

I have never heard of anyone attempting that and frankly I would discourage such an application. Veil is/was not designed to cover painted surface as the material itself can impart a violet-grayish hue on painted surfaces when removed.

Instead, I would recommend that you apply Veil G4 to your main headlights and directional indicators and any retroreflective lenses up-front and on your rear.

If CA requires a front license plate on your bike, I would recommend purchasing a laser shield from Ontrack for your bike's license plates.

After that, if you felt additional protection was still necessary then a Blinder M27 (two head) laser jammer or a Laser Shifter ZR4 (which could be integrated directly into your Passport 9500i) would be a terrific setup.

Keep us posted on your progress and be show to post some PICs!

Veil Guy
