Sounds a bit like a somewhat narrow perspective, to me, which is not entirely surprising...not everyone is open minded on certain topics.
I don't believe Craig was ever an officer, but I believe he has/does consult for them from time to time.
"No impartial studies" sounds like a government-funded project to me. There are certainly plenty of online reviews by independent and knowledgeable testers.
I believe that the most independent, fair, comprehensive, and balanced test I have seen by an "authoritative reviewer" is the one conducted by Craig himself, several years ago:
New Police Laser Countermeasures Field-Tested RadarTest is not a manufacturer of anything electronic, merely a publisher although I suspect that still wouldn't be sufficient for this officer's parochial perspective.
As far as I am concerned, let individuals believe what they want to believe, the more certain individuals don't actually believe in the countermeasure technologies, the better. Doesn't bother me in the slightest.
I still talk to certain traffic enforcement officers who don't believe radar detectors are worth a hoot either and that's entirely
fine with me, too.
They're right (of
course) on both counts!
