<strong> <a href="http://thenewspaper.com/news/49/4998.asp" target="_blank">Texas Board Reprimands Red-Light Camera Engineer</a></strong><br />
The Texas Board of Professional Engineers on May 26 reprimanded the former engineering manager at American Traffic Solutions (ATS) for misconduct related to a red-light camera study in the city of Magnolia. Robert B. Zaitooni worked for ATS from 2009 to 2014 producing the formal documentation that many states require before automated ticketing machines can be installed.</p>

<strong> <a href="http://thenewspaper.com/news/49/4996.asp" target="_blank">Ohio Court Of Appeals Wants More Speed Cameras</a></strong><br />
A majority of judges on an Ohio Court of Appeals panel decided last week to overrule the state legislature on the issue of speed cameras and red-light cameras. Judges James D. Jensen and Arlene Singer insisted that no regulation of any kind could be imposed on cities that outsource traffic tickets to private companies like American Traffic Solutions and Redflex Traffic Systems of Australia.</p>

<strong> <a href="http://thenewspaper.com/news/49/4997.asp" target="_blank">France, Germany: Speed Cameras Smashed and Burned</a></strong><br />
In Herne, Germany, vigilantes set fire to a recently installed speed camera on Thursday morning. According to <em>Westdeutschen Allgemeinen Zeitung</em>, the automated ticketing machine on Sodinger Strasse 553 had been installed in mid-March. It was completely destroyed in the blaze.</p>

<strong> <a href="http://thenewspaper.com/news/49/4995.asp" target="_blank">Tennessee Attorney General Declares Traffic Camera Programs Unlawful</a></strong><br />
Tennessee’s red-light camera and speed camera vendors were sent into disarray on Wednesday after the state attorney general found the systems were being operated in violation of the law. State Representative Andy Holt (R-Dresden), a critic of automated ticketing, asked Attorney General Herbert H. Slatery III for an opinion on whether it was lawful for employees of a private company to conduct a preliminary review of camera videos before passing it off to a municipality for a final review.</p>

<strong> <a href="http://thenewspaper.com/news/49/4994.asp" target="_blank">California: Judge Finds Yellow Times Too Short At Camera Intersection</a></strong><br />
Officials in Los Alamitos, California will soon have to decide whether they will refund red-light camera tickets illegally issued in the city. Last week, Orange County Superior Court Commissioner Lyle J. Robertson dismissed nineteen red-light camera tickets because the city was caught shortchanging motorists on yellow signal timing.</p>
