Default Jammer advice

HI everyone!

This will be my FIRST official post here on STH. I have a '98 Saturn SL2, Forest Green in color (very dark green). Passive LIDAR countermeasures being used are VEIL G4 and a VEIL'd Laser Shield. My concern with a jammer is this:

- What if I do not turn them off on time? What risk do I run of being noticed, or ticketed, especially where they would be illegal (for me, that would be Canada)?

Also, where might be the best place on my car to install the heads? Here's a shot of the front of my car, with red dots indicating where I would like to place the heads:



I especially like the ability to integrate my STi with the ZR4. Any other suggestions???

Great to finally see you here!

I'd be interested to see what your vehicle looks like in the direct sun, it appears that you are in the "shadows," so to speak.

Do your lights look a bit lighter when in the direct sun?

That picture was taken earlier in the morning, so yes, "shadows were inevitable. I will upload some beter pictures later.

The "red dot" areas should do well.

As for evoking "the evil eye" from enforcers, should you jam them "to/from gun?"

Yes, that's always a possibility, particularly if you're actually speeding, when you pass their physical location - but honestly, they've probably seen it happen more than a few times before, even of vehicles with no countermeasures to speak of, as current LIDAR instrumentation is far from perfect.

But honestly, you should practice, practice, and practice - as well as set your system's interior controls up in such a manner - that would allow you to nearly always be able to deactivate the device in-time, to prevent such suspicions from even arising.

While the device being unable to lock, at-all, to a targeted vehicle is not unheard of, it is definitely more rare than an extended lock-time. Thus, it's simply best-tactics to use these devices properly, and execute tactical disengagement as soon as physically possible.

That, though, is Stateside, in areas where jammer usage is not, outright, illegal.

In Canada, you'll need to use even more discretion.

Currently, even the Laser Atlanta SpeedLaser III will throw plenty of spurious error-codes. As-such, an enforcer, even using this tool, will still disregard such concerns.

But don't give them a chance to raise their eyebrows.

I have to agree on this part about law enforcement. Its always better to turn them off if you can. Either the ZR4 or Blinder M25 would be more than enough protection for this saturns setup.
