My wife and I saw the trailer to Seven Pounds
about a month or so ago and were intrigued by what we believed was going to be the storyline.
Well, we managed to see this movie yesterday evening and recommend that if you haven't yet seen it, do so. I am aware that a number of "professional" film critics have not been as enthusiastic about the film...
With Seven Pounds
, I believe Will Smith turned in a brilliant theatrical performance and perhaps you, like I, will really identify with a number of elements presented in this motion picture--there a number of significant "lessons" to be learned in this one, not the least of which is the power of giving
certain "gifts" to one another.
I'd rather not get into the discussion of the particulars of Seven Pounds, as learning beforehand any aspect of the film, may ultimately take away from the experience and if you pay attention to this little details sprinkled throughout, you'll be able to figure how it will all come together prior to its conclusion.
I am pleased to see Will Smith involved with such a production which because of the nature of the subject matter may ultimately "limit" its "commercial" success.
To be clear, this is no comedy. This is a serious drama which explores a number of subjects that could make one, how should I say, a bit
I wish more motion pictures were made like this: where the weight of the acting and storyline outweigh calculations of the "formula" movies which all too often rely on action, sex, violence, and/or special effects to carry the film at the box-office. This film does not get into your face, instead, I found its quiet nature draws your inner emotions/senses out. Seven Pounds comes highly recommended.
PS: Please remember to turn-off
your cell phone before watching this film, the movie theatre is one of those places where cell phone
usage is inappropriate
