Iím questioning the sensitivity of the 9500ix.

Iím questioning the sensitivity of the 9500ix. My first 9500ix was giving false laser alerts 15 Ė 20 in 100miles in the country no one around. However the other bands were very sensitive (K, Ka, X) I picked up trips miles away. I returned it because of the false laser alerts the new one has no false laser alerts but the other bands you have to be very close almost in sight. I exchanged it again this one you have to be in sight also the speed limit indicators I was 300 feet away(?) before alert OK I exchanged it again yesterday hoping for the best this time. I do not know of any way to test the 9500ix other than itís behavior conditions change never same thing twice however the first one was very sensitive the last ones (3) not even close.

Perhaps you are encountering I/O (instant-on) radar which is accounting for the close detection ranges...if radar isn't actually being transmitted, then your detector won't alert.

Perhaps a way to "test" your system is to approach known stationery X, K, or Ka sources which can come in the form of radar drones/speed signs along the roadway and/or door openers which operate on X or K-band.

Also if your 9500ix is set to Auto Sensitivity mode (as opposed to Higway mode) the detector's response to X and K will significantly decrease at lower speeds. Perhaps try Highway mode (if you are not already).

Finally, make sure your band selection is correct in the programming setup.

Otherwise you may want to PM the Escort Rep who visits this forum for further guidance.

something is off

I was approaching known stationery X, K, or Ka sources. It was in highway mode auto learning off auto mute off I did this in four places. The first 9500ix that had false laser alerts was giving alerts miles in advance on some and triple the distance on others (very pleased) with the bad unit on X, K, Ka bands. 3 of the 9500ix made 1910 have very little sensitivity most in plain sight or 300 feet away something is off.

I am on week 2 with my 9500xi and have been using a V1.

Now, I do NOT mount mine in optimal locations (above the visor) as I live in VA and have to keep them hidden from sight. But in that location, the V1 has hundreds of feet better sensitivity to known stationary X and K sources. Some do not go off until I am right across from them where as the V1 in the same mounting location will provide 2 blocks of warning. Highway Mode on the xi.

I have had plenty of warning on valid Ka LEO's but the sensitivity on the X and K of the xi is either VERY smart false filtering or a problem with my mounting location that does not affect the V1 nearly as bad.
