Sounds to me as though Escort just validated the Valentine One for what I have known it to be since its introduction in the 90's: An uber-high performance radar detector designed specifically for performance-oriented drivers, not casual ones.
I am pleased to see that the new Escort Redline is more directly competing to the strengths of the Valentine One.

Well said! Belscort was always good for taking V1's strengths and attempting to turn them into weaknesses. For Example:
V1 falses too much;
really means V1 is more sensitive than our units
V1's arrows are useless they have never saved me;
really means V1 has the most unique feature and one that we would love to have
V1 falses on laser too much;
really means V1's laser performance is out of this world we wish we had it
V1 is too expensive;
really means if we had a unit as sensitive as the V1 we would price it high also
