Firmware Upgrade - New features on all Cheetah GPS detectors
The next (0710) database update is available for download and also includes firmware modifications, requested by users.<o>
Update 1) Time Clock
No military time! Normal 12hr clock times are shown.
Update 2) Exit the Menu
Inside the menu, you can press and hold button 1 to exit the menu without saving.
The rest of the feature updates relate to the way our GPS detectors control the alerts from radar detectors and laser jammers. (requires a compatible Cheetah radar detector interface.)
Update 3) KA Band Alerts
Ka band alerts will play all the time (regardless of the “Audible Alert Speed” and “City Mute”.) In other words, if you set the audible alert speed to filter out low speed alerts below, say, 35mph - any KA band alerts will still play fully, like the laser alerts do.
If required, you can still switch the Ka alerts off completely via menu item 7, “Ka band”. (Do not do this in the USA)
Update 4) Muting Radar Alerts
During a radar alert, press button 3 to mute the current alert.
Update 5) Laser Jammer Alerts
There’s a new menu item at the end of the menu tree – called b (with the voiceover announcement “Laser”) This controls the voice alert that is played during a laser jammer alert on the C100 or the GPSmirror.
If you select 1, this replaces the alert “Diffuser” with the alert “Laser”. Move this to 0 to play “Diffuser”
By removing the word Diffuser from the alerts, this will allow "parking sensor system" users to be able to demontrate that their laser system is working correctly as a parking sensor. The GPSmirror and C100 would no longer be say Diffuser, but will announce laser instead.
Sweet! Now all the clocks in my car can match! :D
^All my clocks happen to be of the European (24 hour) format! :damnmate:
Al, say it ain't so, Joe! :trytofly:
Veil Guy :driver:
You got out-voted!:aetsch:
To-confess, I'm a fan of the 24-hour format, too. I honestly never pleaded for this change-over, and ayup, my everyday watch, a near-indestructible and totally tear-free-if-lost JDM-import Casio G-Shock, digital, is on 24-hour format.
However, my vehicles' clocks are 12-hour format.....
So I'm not really not smiling ( yep, get THAT double-negative! ) with this one. :driver::love:
