+1.

And this is why I truly believe that the PT that you saw on your vehicle, the unfortunate 400 ft. ticket, can be classified as a freak occurrence, even though that's a now-known (from rigorous testing) weak-spot of your setup.

I don't believe that the officer intentionally panned there and elicited the PT - I think that having failed at center-mass, he then tried to engage your headlamps, and that somehow, an unintentional movement dragged the aimpoint of the LIDAR down just far enough that it punched through your protective shield.

Thumbs up Problem Resolved

TSi+WRX,

This is very true, it could happen to anyone. I replaced my heads from the older J11's to the New J16 heads and placed them in the same exact spot, and now I no longer have a weak spot. Believe it or not the J16 heads just have a better LED than my old J11's did. We retested my car about 2 weeks ago. It looks like just updating my heads to the newer LED's did the job. Like I said before no jammer is perfect, but its good to get feedback from fellow hobbyist on what could have been the issue with my current setup. Good Stuff my friend!! Good Stuff!!!

^ That's what I'd figured - that the J16s would solve the issue.

I had speculated, several posts prior in this thread, that with the J16s, jaminc may not have this worry at all (post 18, page 4):

It's very possible that with the J16 in-place, you could very well see much better performance than what steagall reported above.

Default J16 Head Placement

If I decided to go the M35 route with three heads, should I still place them all across the bottom of the bumper or would a triangle setup work with two in the top grill and one under the bumper at center mass. Obviously, I don't think I can go with the five head set up, due to expense, but I want to make sure that I am getting those big headlights covered. Even if I can squeeze enough juice from the turnip to go with M45 would you go two high (upper grill) and two low (under bumper) or stick with all three down low? Maybe, three up front and one in back over the license plate. Veil G4, of course covering all the lights to help. Just bouncing ideas off of you. If two would really give me quality coverage then I could always save a few dollars in this economy and upgrade later.
When can we expect to see video with your new J16 setup against the LIDAR? Thanks as always.
John

Default Placement

Jaminic,

Either way you go the J16's will cover the car with no problem. In my opinion putting the two heads in the grill will cover center mass and head light shots. The head down the center will cover the lower part of the bumper. However, all three on the bottom bumper will give you the same performance.
