Right now, we don't yet have this system in the Metro-Cleveland area, at least not that I kow of......
As the owner of two modified vehicles, one of which is likely decently high on the watchlist of thieves (the Talon), and another vehicle which is, even though totally unmodified, still very desired by the same kind of individuals (the WRX), I'm rather glad that such an automated scanning system could, perhaps, aid in the recovery of a stolen vehicle.
However, given the other "big brother" possibility of it...well, as with many of us in this hobby, I certainly don't like it that much.
