I agree with that statement. The Blinder plus Veil G4 combo I think is the best Laser defense system for the money. Lets face it Nobody has $1100.00 to spend on a diode system. Blinders proven Reliability and performance paired with veil is a no-brainer! Proven Performance, through proven research.

Car permitting, you should see some huge improvements with Veil G4 only and likely JTG (or near so) with the terrific Blinders paired with Veil.

I'd put that combo against any laser diode system and feel safer because of the proven longevity of both countermeasures.

Using an airbrush to apply VEIL has already been explored, in-depth, on RD.net, for both G2 as well as G4.

As Veil Guy cited, there's apparently no need to "thin" either solution - both can be applied "straight." Be sure to pay attention to the can's "shake-and-rest" instructions, though, as well as pay-heed to these fellow VEIL user's warnings and tips:

VEIL test on hayabusa - Radar Detector Jammer Forum - sbfuller is a newcomer to RD.net, but this thread is, I think, honestly the best "how to" that I've ever seen. Although detailed pix can be seen on page 1 (including the before-G4, wet-sanded, picture), the most valuable post is sbfuller's follow-up on page 2 (post number 15), in which he actually shows how he airbrushes the light housing.

Worlds longest VEIL post. - Radar Detector Jammer Forum - erickonphoenix is a long-time user of VEIL, both G2 and G4. His application here shows how much darker and more "matte" G4 can get, with repeated coatings.

Airbrushing Veil - Radar Detector Jammer Forum
Airbrushing Sucks - Radar Detector Jammer Forum
- lots of good, useful, info. and tips in these two threads

Cool

I see you say to do this in the cooler weather of the morning or later afternoon.

Does this mean it's not a good idea to use a heat gun to dry like you would paint?

I've seen people post about Veil chipping/flaking in a coupel days, what is the best cleaner to use before application? I use a silicane and grease remover (3M Prep Sol) before paint.

I am thinking about spraying also, but I received such a small quantity of product, I don't think I have enough for the front and rear lights if spayed?

SCGT,

Not necessarily. It's just that applying Veil during the heat of the day or in bright conditions will cause it to dry more quickly than would be optimal for obtaining a good flow out.

The flaking issue is due to improper pre-cleaning and the possibility of a polymer-wax build-up that can undermine adhesion.

We have found the pre-treatments like 3M Perfect It or wax/polish cleaners and even UV-anti-yellowing treatments can make a huge and positive impact on coating quality and longevity (which can last as much as 5-6 years!).
