Question Question re: Veil and PhotoBlocker Spray

Dear Veil Guy,
I live in Houston which is starting to deploy more red light cameras (27,000 tickets issued in Oct). I also travel a lot for work and spend a lot of time on the highway.

I have been reading up on your product, and also products like Photoblocker which renders a license plate unreadable by a camera by making a plate more reflective, producing a glare where the plate is unreadable.

I believe your product works in the opposite way to reduce the reflective characteristics of a plate or lights to reduce the laser bounce back.

Are these products mutually exclusive? Will Photoblocker actually give my vehicle a more laser friendly profile? Has anyone tested both products together?

Any assistance you can give would be most appreciated.

BMWM3,

Interesting timing to your question. We are currently evaluating the compatibility of Veil with Ontrack's products.

We've know for a long time that Veil is very complementary to Ontrack's LaserShield, however, we have not had much experience with Veil on Ontrack's other products such as their new Toll Protector License Plate cover.

Preliminary experience with the Toll-Protector license plate cover suggest some optical incompatibility with Veil but we are examining this further and expect to develop a work-around and/or an engineering solution. shortly.

We fully expect that we will be able to have Veil work very nicely with Ontrack's other fine products with our ultimate goal having a plate cover that not only defends against red light camera but also police lidar (laser) and photo lidar.

Coupling this solution with a product like Cheetah's GPSmirror seems to me to be a very effective countermeasure to the proliferation of this nascent traffic enforcement technology in North America.

We'll keep you guys posted on our progress.
