Veil GuyOver the years, the Veil Guy has pioneered a unique reviewing style of radar detectors, laser jammers, gps detectors, Veil, and other speed trap countermeasures.
He drives extensive miles throughout North America, pitting these countermeasures against genuine speed traps to determine the real-world potential of each of the products tested. While his unique style has been imitated, it's never been equaled.
The Veil Guy has used radar detectors for nearly three decades and his experiences should be considered before making an informed radar detector or other countermeasure purchase. The opinions expressed by the Veil Guy are solely his own and not necessarily representative of speedtraphunter.net.
Although not cruisers in the Harley frame of mind, I have run jammers on my BMW K1200rs (1999 and 2002 models) and my K1200r to great success. In testing even with the jammer switched off the K120r was very difficult to detect and even then only really effective at 180ft aiming at the helmet both front and rear. In testing only once was the jammer beaten also with a helmet shot.
Although not relavant, because the use of radar guns here seems to have stopped since laser guns were invented. I have only encountered two radar threats since 1992( car or bike), saved once by a Whistler xtr 140 and caught once for R100 ($15). Because we don't really have to worry about radar, we concentrate purely on laser. On the K12rs I had the old laser tec pro 20 and on the K12r the blinder m25 extreme. They saved me everytime, only problem is the guy who stole my K12r is now also the owner of the blinder (pissed me off because I couldn't get a new one from the insurance, bike replaced but no blinder)
