Default Sounds Good Veil Guy :)

Veil Guy,

Just imagine if the V1 had every feature that every Bel/escort/cobra and whistler had on it along with a better design. Maybe it would be called the
"V2" meaning twice the V1 ever was. Hmmmm! Guess its time to call mike valentine.

How about you BELSCORT BOY?????

well buddy, I would use any detector even a cobra if it would perform like I wanted it to, even a v1.

To start with I wish the v1 had a LCD display with a tech feature as the escorts to show each individual signal received and it's relative signal strength. This with the arrows would really be nice...

This is a real problem with the v1's IMO and needs to really be addressed. As I said when I used the v1 I always suspected it was losing it's tune but I had no way to check it out other then send it to the factory for a check up....

Thumbs up I kinda like that Idea :)

Hey Stalkervision,

Now that sounds pretty good. Now if we can get old mike to shake off those cobb webs, and do it, then were good!

Default Valentine One Tune-Up: When to send the V1 in for a check-up.

Guys,

I actually experienced this (no overheating was involved, per se) when I was driving around with Steve (happya$$) in the town of Sheffield Village, Ohio.

My [older] Valentine One missed an instant-on hit from an approaching cruiser operating instant-on Ka. Had I not had my Beltronics STi Driver operating at the same time, I would have never even known that the V1 circuitry was in need of a tune-up.

To Valentine Research's credit, they promptly corrected my faulty unit when I had visited their corporate offices in Cincinnati. Ohio later that road-trip.

In fairness to Valentine, my Beltronics STi later missed a 33.8Ghz Ka blast during a road-trip to Florida. I believe this issue was first documented by the GoL sometime earlier.

To Beltronic's credit, they too quickly resolved the issue under warranty for no charge.

Unorthodox as it may sound, that's one reason I sometimes justify operating both in my vehicle concurrently...to provide a check-and-balance system to each other.

A tad bit over the top, you say, perhaps, but (and you can flog me later) I like the running the dynamic duo!

Here's the experience that I had documented of this episode, if either one of you had missed it, when it originally happened:
