Default All in good time!!!

Doesn't mean they don't own one. Banks county never used their laser gun, except for the one day I cut my jammer off. The laser Veil saved me that day.. You should still consider the blinder.. Its your choice.

MR2NR,

I believe Valentine Research has been working on the temperature (ie; heat) stability issues with their V1 for some time now and have addressed some of these issues with a hardware modification called digital thermal compensation circuitry.

The latest V1 I purchased earlier in the year has this modification. So far, I don't believe I have encountered any temperature related issues and I often leave my V1 mounted on my windshield for extended times during the heat of the day when I park.

As you already know, the RX-65 is a fine radar detector. The more I drive in states where Ka is prevalent, the more I appreciate the TEC mode display of frequency reception.

So far its been pretty good. I've only ran int laser once in Branson if I see them in my area more I'll be saving up for the blinder but they are not the richest counties so I'm not too worried about it yet. About the time I get my first ticket with a laser I'll buy one .
I owned a v1 at one time. I was always suspicious of it's varying detection abilities. When I have have seen people complain about this the advice is always "send it in to have it checked out." This when they are almost new! I liked the arrows for country driving though. Getting two tickets with very little warning and NO, they weren't instant on radar!!! made me go back to the Bell units. Never been Happier. The Bell ALWAYS give me sufficent detection ranges as long as the radar isn't IO.. never had it back to the factory and it performs just as great as when i got it.

What I also really love about my Bell is the "tech display" Driving through city areas is a pleasure now. Very very easy to tell the real cops from the store motion detectors.

The v1's arrows were nice but were useless in the city. The Bell tech display just ROCKS!

stalkervision,

I too have grown quite fond of both BEL's tech display and Escort's spec display (which does the same thing).

Historically, since I live in PA and routinely drive in NJ, having the capability to know the exact police radar reception frequency was unnecessary as K (24.1 Ghz) and X (10.5 Ghz) ruled the day. But as Ka is becoming more prevalent in NJ as the older K-55 X-band guns get replaced, having that additional information is proving very valuable, indeed!

Once you get used to seeing the different Ka frequencies, you can feel a little naked and exposed when you don't have that additional intel! I believe it's easily as valuable information as [the V1's] directional information [without it].

That is the exact feeling I have also. I couldn't live without the tech display. People have argued with me the radar emitters signals shift around slightly but in practical services tests with the tech display day in and out the emittors stay close enough in tune all the time that it is easy to tell the difference between a police radar and the same old door openers you see every day.

It's like shooting fish in a barrel. In fact I can tell one particular cop from the particular frequncy his radar always puts out..
