I believe the law enforcement officers have no right to expect privacy while operating out in the view of the public. I'm sure it would be admissible, but will consult with my legal expert as soon as she gets home.

Oh well she just agreed with me. It would be perfectly admissible. If not his recording of you would not be admissible unless he advises you that you are being recorded. Both of you are in public view and have no reasonable expectation of privacy.

Isn't it ironic, if they would assert such a "right," while at the same time in-car video systems are standard (which is fine by me, actually) and certain law-enforcement personnel prefer the use of privacy-invading automated photo enforcement/alprs systems.

Why is it the traffic enforcement patrols routinely travel the highway at 15-20mph above PSL with impunity, while issuing tickets to others for the same?

In either case, what's good for the goose, must be good for gander.

Thumbs up Laws in Georgia

Ok guys, here is a right in georgia you have as a citizen. If an officer is breaking the posted speed limit and is not on a routine call, you have the right to pull up to the parked officer and ask for his badge# and name and report him to his supervisor on duty.

Now the question is would you do it??? Hell no, but it is a right you have in this state. I have clocked a number of banks county cops running 20 mph over the PSL. Once they see my white honda accord on the side of the road, they slow down.

They all know I run either a Pro Laser III or Ultralyte and take down peoples speeds. An attorney in georgia told me if I video tape an officer speeding or breaking the law on camera through the Laser gun, it can be used in court against that officer. Maybe thats why Banks county slows down everytime I'm on the side of the road shooting Laser. Again its a small town and there are only 8 cops in the county. I don't think I would try this in Gwinnett county or duluth.

Note: You also have the right to make a citizens arrest if someone is putting someone elses life in danger or breaking the law to the extreme to where they could kill somebody. You have the right to hold them there until police arrive. I did not know this either

I would never report an officer for doing 10-20 over PSL without lights or siren. I do not want them running around at PSL with 200 people afraid to pass.
