Too much info is confusing

I recently received a speeding ticket in Ohio that I intend on fighting. In researching the LTI 20/20 UltraLyte, the manufacturer claims that it is accurate on both reflective and non-reflective targets. It appears that most officers are trained to target the license plate. The car is question is a low profile black soft top convertible with cardboard temp tags on back and a cardboard dealership tag on the front.

Anyone have knowledge of the effectiveness of laser in this application?

Headlights, if exposed are more than enough to provide sufficient targeting reflection.
