They're both terrific choices.

If you like the frequency display, then the only Vector that would appeal to you is the V995 (which I believe retails for $269.00) while the Whistler XTR-695 retails for $189.00.

If you feel laser detection is a priority (you didn't mention it) then I'd give some consideration to the V995.

If you are looking for terrific Ka performance and a frequency display, then the Whistler would be a natural choice.

Again we're talking degrees of excellence, here.

You really can't go wrong with either of them.

I don't think that laser is used all that much in VA. I know, they aren't exactly legal here, but sitting in the median with no park lights isn't either, yet they do it

In the line of work I do, I have talked with numerous state troopers as well, and from what they are telling me, they really don't rely on the radar detector detectors all that much anymore because they pick up satellite radio units, which is in about 75% of the vehicles these days. so it's pretty much useless to them. That's why VG2 imunity isn't that important to me. I used to have one of the cheapy units(cobra 9110, I think is the model) and it wasn't all that great, and I never got stopped for it.

Well, let's say that you lived hypothetically in Virginia, in that case, I would reach for an Beltronics STi Driver since it is not detectable by Spectre III or Spectre IV. It ain't inexpensive, but it is well worth it.

Thanks for your help... I wish I could afford the STi Driver. I found a XTR 695 on ebay today and went ahead and ordered it! 150.00 Like I said previously, I've talked to too many state troopers that tell the real story behind radar detector detectors.. in VA anyways!
