SU,
YES, that's been
most unfortunate, to say the
least.
I actually
owned a K40 in my
personal vehicle and drove with it for a very good number of years and while its performance wasn't say at the level of the ultra-premiums, I never actually got a speeding ticket with it. Unfortunately the front radar receiver ultimately failed due to the age and despite trying to get a working replacement from K40, the model had been long since out of production and so I was forced to replace the entire unit. I was not upset with K40, as I understand a manufacturer may not be able to support an out-of-production unit indefinitely, not even automakers do (I think its seven years after the model year, actually).
At any rate, without getting into or discussing history (from whatever perspectives), I truly believe that this review may turn out to be
Craig Peterson's crowning achievement (up to this point) and will ultimately serve our industry well (especially the consumers).
I know there has been a lot of "bad"
Kharma surrounding RadarTest over the years (especially, last year), and I see he will continue to have "haters," but, at least from my perspective and despite whatever "history," Craig Peterson is basically a stand-up guy, willing to put his "carrier" at potential risk from whatever elements (as he
has in the past).
It takes guts and integrity to report things as you find them, and I believe that he is beginning (at least for
me) to
earn back, respect.
I
appreciate that he merely reported the
facts and kept his writer's
wit in check on this one...
It's too significant of a review, even more so than his
collective consumer advisories about a certain "passive" radar "scrambler" manufacturer.
Like the
GoL, his
results will speak for themselves!
Well done, Craig!
PS: You know I have been a supporter of Craig, despite all of the negativity (and even though I haven't agreed with
some of his opinions/conclusions), but I believe his book(s) on the subject of "
safe speeding" are definitive pieces of fine reading.
Please give him a chance and
support his efforts by getting his latest
book.
There really is a wealth of information worth knowing about that is not generally known (from a driver's perspective). Hey if you don't like it (which I really doubt) you can always put it on Amazon.
PPS: Holy Smokes! I
just realized this has been an incredible week, if
truth telling is important to you. To wit:
GoL's latest laser jammer test,
Scott's sincere public apology to the GoL, the
'Goon's' being exposed as the
shills they are, and
CP's review of the awesome 9500ci and the subsequent
vindication to the
authenticity of GoL's original review...
Incredible week! This industry has long been in the need of "healing" and between all of these independent dynamics, I truly believe we're on the right trajectory!
