The VSP took delivery of some Mk III units last year.

The first production Mk IV and Mk IV+ units arrived in the States on Sept. 20 and I tested both for the manufacturer beginning Oct. 1. Three weeks later I tested a third unit, with revised software to catch Whistler's new platform shared by the Pro 78 and XTR 690. That one served as the first in the Mk IV+ series, a number of which are earmarked for the VSP this year.

I've heard that Fairfax County PD just got a bunch of them Spectres, including some installed in unmarked cars.

That would be very surprising since no fairfax county border is near a state line and they generally do not target truckers. Seems like a waste of money. I've only verified that VSP has them in the NOVA area.

Oh, I forgot that radar detectors are a big no-no in VA, whether you ride a bike, drive a beemer or an 18-wheeler.
