New Laser Gun/with photo

Just found out from gwinnett county that they have ordered new laser guns with a built in photo camera. Now they get your speed/distance and take your picture. It prints out to a printer in their patrol car. Isn't that nice! Well atleast when they hit my car they will get a big smile with no speed reading! Not sure what brand of gun it is. Could be the Prolaser series.

If it's a hand-held unit currently in production, it's a Laser Atlanta Speed Laser S. A digital, thru-HUD color camera is optional. Resolution is 320 x 240 and pretty lousy; when I made a demo video for them in 2000 the thru-HUD footage was too grainy to be usable. But at short range it can ID the target reasonably well.

If I am not mistaken have a our friends abroad been using this technology for some while now.

Doesn't South Africa use a mobile similar system. Is this equipment also provide by other police lidar manufacturers (ie; LTI). I believe I saw such a system at one SML venue several years back and I believe it was based on an LTI Ultralyte. Am I mistaken? Or do they too have a solution similar to the one you mentioned from Laser Atlanta?

If so, how is the video/photo quality of their system.

Furthermore, doesn't LaserCraft do something similar, primarily for the enforcement of red light interestions (for speed-on-green capability) using a laser tripping mechanism as opposed to an induction-loop triggering mechanism.

For me is these statement are inaccurate...
