new technique for issuing citations
A 4 year old Florida law requires drivers to either pull over to an outside lane or if one is not available to reduce their speed 20mph below posted speed when an emergency vehicle is at the roadside with lights flashing. during a recent trip through everybody's favorite speed trap in Waldo, FL the local police where parked at the side of the road in front of the local police station with their lights flashing(no one was stopped at the time). The 35 mph speed limit at that location now becomes 15 mph. They began stopping multiple cars at a time to issue warning citations that could have just as easily been 20 over speeding tickets. |
