LOL.

Veil does especially well with the Stalker LZ1, which is a good thing because it is one of the more difficult guns to jam with active laser jammers.

This is a good example of synergy.

I was recently considering a the use of the folllowing high-end DSLRs for a recent trip that I made out West: Nikon D3, D300, Canon 1Ds Mark II, 5D and spent a considerable amount of time internally debating which one.

Speaking to a professional wildlife photographer, I was reminded that it is the photographer the produces great pictures, not the camera equipment.

Sometimes I let myself get carried away with over analysis. Each of these systems are incredible (in their own right) at potentially taking fantastic pictures.

I suspect you would ultimately be satisfied with a variety of the different solutions that are available...

(BTW, I went with the Nikon D3 and haven't looked back).

The pics were really good. The face on the cows is priceless. LOL I see you also had a 'close encounter' and I don't mean the cows.

When it comes to wildlife, dude, I am fearless.

I've got some real close-ups of a Black and a Grizzly Bear. I'll post 'em eventually...

(Not to drift off subject).

The same kind of deal goes for the STi-R.

Correct.

The STi-R has only a forward array - a RADAR antenna and LIDAR sensor.

The same goes for your in-vehicle STi-Driver.

Thus, in-reality, in the physical world, what your detector picks up from the REAR are reflections, from road-signs, other cars, buildings, guard-rails, etc. (any form of ambient clutter), of the rear-incoming signal that literally "blows by" you, and hits those "ambient environment" objects.

With the Escort 9500ci, you've still only got that one forward-facing RADAR antenna, but in terms of rear LIDAR reception, you've now got the ZR4's rear head doing the majority of the work.

In using my STI for probably 2 years now I have only heard the 'laser' beep in my driveway 2 times. I have NEVER heard the 'laser' alert going off on the road?

I commonly hear X and K, not sure if K is radar used by Police?

And I hear Ka and know that is police because I see them eventually.
Whether any one RADAR band, or any kind of LIDAR, is used in your particular area is just that - the preferences of the enforcers in your area, as well as what kind of equipment is made available to them by their department.

In my area, for example, Shaker Heights is virtually K-band exclusive, with the exception of a few of their special-detail enforcement vehicles, which see the use of Ka. For another area township, Highland Hills, they're nearly exclusively K-band, but in a couple of spots, I'll actually see laser usage from them - and they have one specific cruiser with Ka-band.

I could go on and on, but you get the idea.

Not sure why I have not heard laser before unless it is just not common in my area?
Certainly could be the case.

I totally agree.

In the real-world, *any* of the top-flight detectors will work extremely well, and it is truly only the countermeasures enthusiasts and hobbyists that will debate, ad-nauseam, the nitty-gritty details.

Honestly, SCGT, in terms of the detectors, you'll be just fine, no matter which way you go.

This statement is from Beltronics...

Exclusive TotalShield technology makes this top of the line detector invisible to radar detector detectors. And if the best in class detection wasn't enough, we also include premium accessories: hard shell metal case, direct wire SmartPlug, coiled SmartPlug, 12 volt speaker, and quick release windshield mount, and dont forget--360 degree protection. This is by far the best detector for the professional driver.
There have been no reviews for this product.

My STI has a front receiver, and a rear receiver that sits on top of the detector facing rearward. I don't have a pic, but can get one if need be.

I believe the Valentine 1 is the only other detector that receives rear stuff also?

I am just wondering why the built in detectors don't have any provision for rear pick up?

I am assuming that if I had the 9500ci in my car and a patol car came up behind me w/ radar I wouldn't pick him up unless it was as you say bouncing off something in front (around) me?

Is all 'laser' from a hand held gun and all mounted units K or Ka band radar?

Can a hand held be K or Ka band?

Just trying to get an idea what I'm looking at.
