Reading the LI gone belly up thread a thought occured to me. Why is it that jammer manufacturers claim their product can be upgraded but don't give the upgrade kit with it (ie the wires to plug it into your pc)?
I owned the Blinder M25 extreme (supposedly could be upgraded, but no kit or info in packaging on how to do this) and the Laser Star (same problem, but it did have a port for it, but no software).
Brings me to another question, if its upgradeable, where is the software? Even my cell phone comes with a dvd disk with links to the factory ect.
I don't think that the previous-generation Blinder was ever upgradeable, with the exception of returning either the heads and/or control-box to the source, for a swap-out to the next iteration/generation.
Same for the ZR3 - but as for the ZR4, we're all a bit puzzled (the good stuff is all in the heads), and it remains to be seen as to what will happen.
The LaserStar and other AL G7/G8 clones, such as the LPP, were never "reflash" upgradable. They had non-functional access ports. These products required their "brain," the control-box, to be returned to the source for a swap-out, to "upgrade."
The LI has a usable user-access port, but so far, for upgrades, again, it's a matter of sending it back to the source for a swap-out of at least the control-box.
The language needs to be more refined, and its use more consistent throughout the community.
I really like MEM-TEK's idea of "LED" versus "CLED," to prevent confusion with the word "doide," but it seems that it'll be a while before this nomenclature catches on.
