4 months later and I'm still having problems tracking down my speaker working inconsistantly.

When you power up this system and it goes through showing you the bands, does it sound off like a windshield mounted detector does?

I thought mine did when I first installed?

I rarely hear a word out of the speaker even though I see it picking up different bands.

The Volume is all the way up and the VOICE is on .

I've checked the wires a few times and the in-line fuse.

I haven't pulled the speaker to see if i can open it up to check for a loose wire.

I'm thinking I may need a new speaker. I'm probably out of warranty although I haven't but just begun to use this thing.

Not sure how else to check the speaker?
