Like 99gst said, no, you won't turn off the complete system, if you shut-down the jamming output.
In addition to being able to effect shut-down of the jamming output during the actual LIDAR encounter (i.e. to properly disengage from the threat, once you've reached PSL or "reasonable), you can also set the device to "Receive Only" mode, which, as the words describe, you will only receive LIDAR alerts, but the unit will not actively respond to jam the threat. The unit can also be set to "Off," entirely.

I don't know what 'PSL' is and many other abbreviations used and it gets fustrating.
