Unrelated to the topic, but to keep going with how it branched off.
VEIL Guy, just wanted you to know that Sara and I are continuing with our Subarus. Sara's 4-year lease on her '05 WRX sedan is coming due in the next few days, and we've just "signed" for an '09 Forester 2.5XT, in Spark Silver Metallic.
The FXT should equal the straight-line performance of her '05 WRX, which was also a four-speed electronically controlled automatic, rather easily, given the extra half-liter of displacement and its contribution to torque, and the minimal weight difference plus more aggressive gearing.
Sara does miss the tightly controlled ride of her WRX, but the sightlines of the Forester won her over, in comparison to the Impreza chassis.
Our other choice would've been the '09 Impreza 2.5GT, which is basically what an automatic WRX evolved to, in this iteration. Unfortunately, the lease on the '09 Impreza 2.5GT carried such bad rates that my wife was simply unwilling to pay that kind of money - at least for a Subaru.
So, I'm cleaning out her Rex, and on Monday, we're going to pick up the FXT.
