Got a speeding ticket with the 9500ix

The 1st laser warning did occur as I was passing a group of cars, but what they looked like I don't know because...well, I was speeding . The second warning came after I was off the highway and coming to a red light, which seemed stupid because who would be speeding while approaching a red light anyway? Thanks for the info on the KU band. I went outside and turned KU & POP to off. My time here thus far has been very informative, I'm glad that I found this forum.

Some stoplights will set my V1 off on laser alert as will the tail lights of certain vehicles. There are several things that will cause a RD to give a false laser alert. Treat any laser alert as real and slow down quickly if you are speeding. It may be a false alert but the time it takes for an officer to get a lock on your speed is too short to treat an alert as anything but real.

It takes a while to learn what your RD is telling you, how it reacts to different scenarios. Don't take it as a license to drive at break neck speeds. Learn what your new tools are telling you and drive accordingly.

No he can follow you and use his calibrated speedometer to obtain your speed. He just has to keep the distance between you the same and follow you for a set distance (varies by locality) to be able to make his case in court.

In some states he can visually estimate your speed and if he has the proper training that is enough to get a conviction.

What C4 indicated is my understanding as well.

In PA, the traffic citations actually include a check box for "pace."
