Hey Guys,

I just purchased a 2006 Porsche C4S Cab. (5,000 miles and loaded)It has an Excort SRX system with Laser shifters, (2-up front, 1 in rear), but may need Blinder augmentation. Yesterday I stopped to talk with a motorcycle LEO shooting a Stalker and asked if he would shoot at my car and tell me the results. He said he had no problem getting returns. The problem is I am not sure he was 100% truthful in that he kept the trigger down for a long time and later asked me how fast I was going. What I was really after was to see if the SRX would aleart and shift. (Escort does not like to say, "jamm".) Interestingly, this system comes from the factory with the jammers disabled. During the installation programming you have to enable jamming or shifting. One interesting note: these were professionally installed and the installer mounted the front jammers toe out about 15-20 degrees instead of straight ahead. Hopefully I will get with Outrun for testing and may possibly add Blinder augmentation.

PS- I now have a rear Blinder Jammer on my K1200S so I am covered there and my 2004 M3 in now for sale.

Walt

Walt,

That is one slick looking ride.

I've just saw a recent Top Gear show where JC was driving RH's favourite ride, the 911. The new turbo apparently is very difficult to get to under/over-steer and on the open roads appears quicker/faster than even the fantastic F430.

I have been thinking about a Cayman S. Do you have an opinion on this vehicle?

I've been recently tooling around with a 335i and that vehicle is simply incredible to drive 0-130mph. Beyond that my Dinan 5 walks away.

The new M3 looks promising but I really have a soft spot for Bimmer's straight sixes and cars with near ideal weight splits (like a mid-engine).

Good luck with your new ride and I look forward to what you find out with Outun.

PS: You may want to Photoshop out your number plate on your PICs.

Bob,

The Cayman S is a very nice car. I needed 4 seats so it was never an option. Although the back seats of my 911 a pretty small my girlfriends kids, (6 and 10 yr olds), fit fine.

I really like the cornering capability of this car and have to say it is a little more maneuverable than the M3 and is greatly in part to using sport mode. Sport mode tightens the suspension and is an active mode. The breaking is breathtaking but simply because it has the PCCB. (Composite brakes. This is an $8,000 option) Big tires also. The rears are 305's and the fronts 235's on 19 inch rims.

No doubt the Porsche's brakes are jewelry.

Next spring, I think I will take the "hardtop Boxster" for a test drive, its got to be a step up from the Z4 or M coupe.

Now that I got some serious track time under my belt (from the Fireball Run) I have definitely gotten the itch for road courses (instead of straight line drag racing) and the Porsche has to be at home in such a venue.

My 5 series as good as it is on the road, came up a little short in the track-duty department.

Even with Ceramic brakes and Brembo discs, ATE super blue brake fluid, the brakes took a real beating (really heavy vehicle) and the transmission cooling was inadequate.

911s and their variants should be a blast to pilot around the race track.

Enjoy your new ride!

Default Nice Ride!

If it was me I would stick with the Blinder M-45. Put three heads in the front and one in the back. Escort makes a great product. But Their technology is nothing compared to Blinder. I do my own testing with the M-25 and it has never failed me.
