It is with great sadness I report to you the death of my beloved 1998 Saturn SL2. Over the past weekend she developed a VERY bad oil leak, leaving a huge puddle in my driveway and a smoke trail on the highway. I took her into the dealership, where they discovered the cause of death to be two things: a blown rear main seal, and a hole in the transmission housing. This car was special for many reasons. Firstly, it was the car I have held onto the longest without a major accident (over 8 years), and it took me on many long journeys (Williamsburg,VA, Lancaster, PA, Cape Cod, Toronto and most recently Montreal). I fiish salvaging my personal belongings from her on Saturday afternoon, when I pick up her replacement, a 2003 Buick Century - same color (dark green) mind you.
Rest in peace, old friend...(6/29/2000-12/4/2008)
