MR2NR,
I believe Valentine Research has been working on the temperature (ie; heat) stability issues with their V1 for some time now and have addressed some of these issues with a hardware modification called digital thermal compensation circuitry.
The latest V1 I purchased earlier in the year has this modification. So far, I don't believe I have encountered any temperature related issues and I often leave my V1 mounted on my windshield for extended times during the heat of the day when I park.
As you already know, the RX-65 is a fine radar detector. The more I drive in states where Ka is prevalent, the more I appreciate the TEC mode display of frequency reception. |
