Default Bel RX-65

Well I purchased this unit about a month ago and after owning a Valentine1 for five years. It sure was a hard choice but I found a brand new one for 200$ with a coupon from Amazon.com and couldn't pass it up after hearing the older 2004,2005 reviews of it and seeing it used to be a 300-350$ detector. It does a good job at keeping quite but haven't seen it perform as well as my Valentine yet. (I haven't driven as much with it either) I just couldn't see plopping down another 400$ for a V1 when I could get the Bel for 200$. Another reason for switching was that the V1 was defective after all the time of sitting in the heat. It would false on Ka and just stay on until I turned it off? I opted to sell it as fix it for the same price I could get a new RX for. The RX65 didn't come with the remote mount wire like the V1 which I really like as I had a cop yell at me to show him with he detector and couldn't see it was never moved. But it did have a mute button on the plug witch made up for this. Even though I used some RJ-11 and wired it myself pretty easily to the car. I like the display and the fact that you can monitor the cars Voltage with the unit. The alarms are ok but the mans voice I could do with out. If it was a woman it would be better . It does feel a little more toyish than the V1 but hopefully it not being black will help with heat as I sometimes forget to take it down when I'm at work :-(. Oh crap..........Well anyway thats my first impression I'll give you more as I put more miles on it.
