Just a couple of days ago, I was stopped in the evening after my wife and I were returning from the latest Star Trek movie. The time was about 2200 and it was raining outside.
We pulled over safely, flashed hazards, turned on interior lights and I actually placed both hands outside with my windows roll-down.
When asked why I did so, I indicated that I did that for him. I believe he was appreciative.
Five minutes later, I received a
warning and I shook hands with the officer before he departed.
I never forget during a traffic stop, that enforcement personnel are doing a job (like each of us). As such I treat every enforcement officer with the appropriate respect they deserve for doing a difficult (and sometimes very unsafe) job.
