Glad to hear that!!!

Besides, it seemed that from your exchange with Mike B., that he also thinks your chosen location should further supplement your usage-preferences, too.

I also like the fact that this very expensive and sensitive radar receiver is protected from the direct external elements in that location.
That is a very good thought, and indeed, very important, given the price-tag of this device!

About the "aftermarket" stuff, did you notice the Cheetah GPS Mirror, I have found that in this particular car, that I prefer the wide field of view that it provides (especially to the either side of the vehicle).
Of course!

I also use one, and I love it, too.

For me, it also has the added-bonus of allowing me to keep an eye on my toddler back there in her child-seat, which, prior to the GPS-Mirror, I had to rely on aftermarket clip-on "supplemental mirrors" from various automotive and baby-products stores. Unfortunately, those "mirrors" are not real mirrors, and are often of such sub-standard quality that it makes it very hard to keep view of what's going on in the back seat. I love that the Cheetah GPS-Mirror's superior optical clarity allows me to easily see *everything* that she's doing back there while, at the same time, affording a wide-angle view of the roadway behind which completely eliminates the passenger-side blind-spot.

Although my wife doesn't like the mirror (the convex safety-mirror feature disorients her) and thus does not use it in her vehicle, I do have her car pre-wired for the mirror, so that I can transfer the mirror to her car, when we go on road-trips in her vehicle.

With respect to the Nuvi 360, GPS unit, which has loaded on it custom POIs (red light cameras and speed cameras) of photo enforcement locations, this small unit is something that I take from car to car. I guess I would could hardwire for this particular car which is the primary one I use and then use the portable cables for rentals, etc.
That's what I thought - that you traveled too much to make hardwiring the unit practical - hence the smiley.

My GPS, a simple TomTom One, 3rd. Ed. - a gift from one of my lab vendors - only goes in my car for trips, and as-such, the hardwire is fed through my center cubby's driver side vent, which, normally, will only have the mini-USB cable's very end sticking out of it.

BTW, my wife and I just purchased a new 2009 Subaru Legacy sedan
Congrats!

Which model?

...which has the new Harmon-Kardon premium sound system with an auxilary hook-up for iPods and I have hooked up my iPhone to it streaming audio via the data/internet service using Apps like Pandora, Last.fm, Slacker. The quality of the sound, especially from Pardora is simply incredible! No commercials and hours of endless music be selected by genre.
So nice! I'm jealous!

Who needs Sirius or XM when you have that capability.
+1.

We had owned a 2003 Subaru Legacy GT sedan, but that had an unfortunate history serious mechanical issues. We're hoping our 2009 model will fair better in the long-term in that department.
I'll keep my fingers crossed for ya.

Late-model Subarus are weird like that - either you get one that lives up to the commonly held view of the "Million-mile Subaru," and you never have a day's worth of trouble, or you get one that's a frequent customer in the shop. I am sorry, as a Subaru fan now for going on 4 years, that you had to endure that.

Indeed, hopefully, your '09 will give better service.

Look us up on LegacyGT.com - it's dedicated to the BL/BP-chassis Subaru Legacys, and you'll find a lot of useful information there. The search engine is very powerful, too, and I have no doubt you'll find it most useful.

I know that the '09s wiring is quite a bit different than the earlier MYs, but I do still have a copy of the '05's service-manual. If you need it, let me know.

I'm also familiar with most of the basic issues regarding this chassis platform (however, again, my knowledge with the '09s may, specifically, be limited/lacking), so if you guys ever have any questions, just let me know.

My screen-name on LegacyGT.com is "TSi+WRX" as well.
