I greatly appreciate the input on those "other" products. I don't have the experience or knowledge necessary to make an educated decision for my next purchase.
Since the next purchase (9500i) would have been $500 plus shipping and knowing myself as an avid speed enthusiast I found it hard to spend that kind of money without knowing that I was purchasing a great product. So since you can find anything on the internet I decided to research further and thankfully found this forum.

One thing I do know is the ZR3 has the self test every time it powers up. Now if it actually functions correctly I am not certain, I have only been "under fire" twice that I know of. (Both times I passed very confused cops) The other cool thing I have noticed is the X50 has a "self cal" which I'm assuming means self calibration. There is one negative, for the past couple months it has been "self cal" more than usual and every so often it says service required. (another reason why I want to get my 9500i and send in my X50 for repair)

I have two cars, one daily driver and my weekend "sports" car. The weekend car is the one that has the ZR3 and I have been switching the X50 back and forth. The daily driver saw 18000 miles in its first year with only the X50 for protection so I was very lucky. So before my luck runs out I need to protect myself further.

With both your comments I believe that my choice of 9500i + ZR4 + Veil could be the winning combination for the daily and Ill keep the ZR3 + X50 in the weekend car and add some Veil.

Happy, I don't have a front license plate so I don't think that I need the 3M or Laser shield tape correct?
If you do not have a front plate then you do not need a Laser Shield or 3M tape. I would highly recommend that you get a V1 over the 9500i though. It has much better sensitivity and its laser reception is the best on the market
