While the
Whistler Pro78 and Whistler XTR690 are very fine radar detectors, indeed, my recommendation for Mr. Tramel would be to hold-out for the new
Whistler XTR695 radar detector and perhaps, if he's interested in avoiding the technology that he supports, acquire a
GPS detector, like the
Cheetah GPSmirror (it may be a little more discreet to operate than a windshield mounted radar detector that can be easily photographed, and finally perhaps acquire an
anti-photo license plate cover from Ontrack.
...Mr. Tramel could also come to his senses and cancel these [questionable] deals with these for-profit foreign national companies and choose to
preserve our civil liberties, instead.
...Probably
too noble a cause (what's the
value of liberty, anyway), it's much easier to just get to the countermeasure equipment (between those three countermeasures) and that should do it!
At any rate, remember owning a "speed detector" (actually its called a 'radar detector') is an entirely lawful thing unless you manage to live in the Commonwealth of Virginia, the District, certain provinces of Canada, or in certain other countries where its citizenry are not afforded the same level of civil liberties and rights as we.
